Misogyny Shouldn’t Be Normalized !

Misogyny is something which is widely spread in this world. It’s not something to be appreciated, which many do. Many men & some women have a mindset women were created only to do chores, satisfy and gratification. More girls sacrifice their dreams and ambitions because of the misogynistic societal pressure dawned upon their family. Prejudice against women is so prevalent in this society wherever we go in real life or even in social media they are degraded, humiliated, put down and questioned for their choices.

Many choose religion as their backup to validate their arguments. To all theists Eve (P.B.U.H) was created from the rib of Adam (P.B.U.H) neither below his waist nor above his chest. Which clearly indicates no gender is superior to the other.

Who gave birth to Prophet Muhammed (P.B.U.H)? A woman named Aamina (P.B.U.H).

Who gave birth to Jesus Christ (P.B.U.H)? A woman named Mary (P.B.U.H).

Who gave birth to Lord Buddha (P.B.U.H)? A woman named Mahamaya (P.B.U.H).

Most of us men toil for our family it’s agreeable. But that doesn’t give us the upper hand to repress women. An average female goes through menstruation from the age of 9 to 50. That’s 41 years of pain that she goes through every single month patiently, bravely, courageously and discreetly trying to act normal as much as they can which we men would find it very hard to do. Even when pregnant they will have to resist their urges for the other life they carry inside them. An average human body can bear pain up to 45 Del (units). An average woman would suffer 57 Del (units) when going through a childbirth which is very comparable to 20 broken bones. Believe me as a guy with 2 broken bones the pain is really unbearable.

What rights do we have to judge them?

Misogyny has been normalized to the extent a girl is blamed for her being raped rather than the perpetrators. It’s important for us to teach our sons to lower their gazes and resist their urges than caging our daughters. We should teach our sons there is nothing wrong in advocating for females (which is now considered as feminine or an act of cowardice because of societal and peer pressure). It’s okay for men to safeguard women but not oppress or repress in the name of kindness or safeguarding. Many people think it’s cool to bring down a women’s reputation in this (so called) modern world but it’s merely an act of cowardice and insecurities. If anyone is too comfortable with Misogyny they were brought up wrong. Any man who disrespects another woman he disrespects the women in his family too.

A female is raped. The society says ‘She wore provocatively.’

A female is harassed in her workplace. The society says ‘She smiles and talks with her male co-workers.’

A female is abused by her husband. The society says ‘She disrespected her husband.’

A female speaks for her rights. The society says ‘She is arrogant.’

Is it wrong to be born as a female in this modern society?

Women should be respected, Women should be appreciated for who they are, Women should be encouraged to be free, Women should be dealt with kindness and Men should know this.

This is dedicated to all the women in my life and out there in this world.

Sincerely From a Male (Zuhruf Zarook)
